What exactly is Bgorgeous by Alissa?

Alissa has years of experience in the field of hair weaves and hair extensions. From a young age, she has been obsessed with beautiful long hair. However, she wasn’t blessed with a nice, full head of hair herself, so she set out to find ways to make her own hair longer and fuller. To her great frustration, she couldn’t find a good product that was also affordable. This inspired her to develop her own method for applying hair weaves (strands of real hair) without damaging your own hair. What types of hair extensions and application techniques are there?

FUSION/PRE-BONDED HAIR EXTENSIONS (3–4 MONTHS)

Fusion extensions are individual strands of hair that are attached to the hair root using a tool similar to a glue gun. Fusion or pre-bonded hair extensions typically last about three to four months and must be applied by a professional hairstylist. Because they are applied strand by strand, this is a very expensive procedure.

TAPE-IN HAIREXTENSIONS (4-8 WEEKS)

Tape-in extensions are attached to the sides of your natural hair with adhesive tape and last between four and eight weeks if properly maintained. However, the taping process does damage your natural hair, so tape-in extensions cannot be left in your hair continuously.

HALO HAIR EXTENSIONS (3–6+ MONTHS)

Halo extensions rest on the top of your head and are secured with a thin, invisible thread.

CLIP-IN HAIR EXTENSIONS (3–6+ MONTHS)

The hair is attached to a piece of fabric or cloth with clips that can be clipped onto your natural hair roots.

INGENAAIDE HAIR WEAVES (6-8 WEEKS)

With the braiding technique or sewing-in method for hair weaves, small braids are created from your own hair and secured to your head. The hair weaves are then attached to these braids and sewn in. This entire process is time-consuming and therefore also expensive. This application method also often puts strain on the scalp, which is why sewn-in hair weaves are best suited for thicker hair.

MICRO RING HAIR WEAVES (4- 8 WEEKS)

Alissa considers the micro-ring technique to be the best and gentlest way to apply permanent hair weaves to your own hair. With this technique, you take a strand of your own hair and a strand of hair weave. You attach these strands together using a micro-ring with a silicone interior. The silicone lining provides extra protection for your hair and ensures a secure hold. The micro ring is clamped into the natural hair growth pattern. This way, it doesn’t damage your own hair. It’s important to place the micro rings evenly so that the weight of the hair weave is distributed properly throughout your own hair.

Which technique or hair extension is the best?

Alissa has personally tried all types of extensions and techniques. With the exception of micro-rings, all other techniques put a lot of strain on your own hair. This is why Bgorgeous hair weaves can only be applied using the micro-ring technique. The micro-ring technique does not damage your natural hair. In fact, using hair weaves actually makes your natural hair stronger and thicker, because the hair weaves partially protect your hair, slowing down the wear and tear on the ends of your natural hair.

Want to apply weave extensions yourself?

It’s actually not possible to apply Bgorgeous hair weaves on your own. The application must be done precisely and correctly, not only to protect your own hair (and avoid damaging it) but also to ensure the hair weaves drape naturally and blend seamlessly with your natural hair. How many hair weaves do you need?

The number of hair weaves you need depends on whether you want hair extensions or hair thickening, the condition of your own hair, and the look you want to achieve. If you’re just looking for more volume, 1 to 2 hair weaves (25 grams per hair weave) will be enough. 
If you're going for both volume and length, you'll need 3 to 4 strands (75–100 grams) for fine to normal hair and 4 to 6 strands (100 to 150 grams) for thick hair.

Of course, every type of hair extension has its pros and cons. A major advantage of hair weaves is that they are reusable and can last a long time (with proper care).
