CURTAIN BANGS: The Hair Trend of 2022
Where did curtain bangs come from?
The look originated in the 1960s. Just think of the hairstyle made popular by film icon Brigitte Bardot. It’s likely that the look has made a comeback as a result of the quarantine, during which bangs grew out and people took advantage of this change.

Curtain Bangs and Face Shape
Curtain bangs will look gorgeous on you! Because they sweep outwards slightly, they make your face look a bit more oval. Curtain bangs are also perfect for highlighting your cheekbones and suit all face shapes! Just make sure to always have them cut by a professional.
Curtain Bangs Stylen
Styling curtain bangs can be easy. All you need is a round brush, a hair dryer, and the right hair products to style your hair. Watch the video “How to: Curtain Bangs” and find out how to style your curtain bangs.
How do I style this hair trend?
Are you curious and want to style your curtain bangs beautifully too? Read on to learn how to style your curtain bangs in 6 steps.
Step 1 – The Right Hair Care
Hair care is the foundation of beautiful, healthy hair. Use a shampoo and a nourishing conditioner, such as the Wella Enrich conditioner.
Step 2 – Apply a styling product, such as hair mousse, to your hair
It’s important to apply a volumizing hair product throughout your hair so that your curtain bangs last longer and your hair stays in place better. We’re big fans of the Wella EIMI Extra Volume Mousse.
The hair mousse provides hold, adds volume, and prevents the hair from drying out while blow-drying.
Step 3 – Use a volumizing or root-lifting hairspray
For more volume, use a root-lifting spray such as the EIMI Sugar Lift. Create a few sections in the hair and spray it onto the roots from a distance of about 10 cm. The spray not only adds volume but also shine, as the product is enriched with sugar.
I can hear you thinking: Is it really that important to apply multiple products to your hair before you start styling? The answer is: YES, it really is! Applying these products gives your hair hold, so you can enjoy your curtain bangs for a long time.

Step 4 – Blow-dry your hair with a round brush
Roll and flip your hair: use your brush to bring your bangs forward, twist them upward, and lift them as the hair dryer hits your hair. Roll your brush forward, and voilà—your curtain bangs are styled. Check out the video “How to: Curtain bangs’ at 1:38 to make it a little clearer.
Step 5 – Add volume at the crown
Do you really want to go for a '60s hairstyle? Then don't forget to add some volume at the crown. Use your hair dryer and round brush again.
Step 6 – Let your hair cool using a bobby pin
For longer-lasting results, you can roll your curtain bangs back and secure them briefly with a bobby pin. This allows the hair to cool while maintaining its shape, so you can enjoy the look for longer throughout the day.
