A good hair care routine often starts in the shower. Did you know that the order in which you use products and the way you wash your hair can make a big difference? With the right order in the shower and a few simple steps, your hair will stay soft and shiny.

Start with a Shampoo

It all starts with a good shampoo. Find a shampoo that suits your hair type and needs. If you want more hydration, more volume, or repair, try different options and find the right shampoo for your hair. To use it, gently massage the shampoo into your scalp to remove dirt and sebum, but be careful with the lengths - they don’t need to be washed with shampoo. Focus on the scalp.

An important tip: wash your hair twice. The first time, you remove excess dirt and product residue. The seconde times, you cleanse your hair more thoroughly, allowing the product to work better. This keeps your hair clean and healthy without drying it out.

Conditioner on the lengths

After washing, it’s important to nourish and protect your hair. Apply conditioner to the lengths and ends, where hair is most vulnerable. Avoid the scalp, as conditioner can weigh your hair down and make it get greasy faster. Leave the conditioner on for a little while (1-3 minutes), then rinse thoroughly. After rinsing, your hair will be softer and easier to comb.

Give your hair extra nourishment

Every once in a while (depending on your hair’s needs and how often you wash it), a mask or deep-conditioning treatment can provide extra care. Choose a mask that suits your hair’s needs. Apply it after shampooing. Leave it on for a little while, usually about 10 minutes. Rinse thoroughly, then apply conditioner. This gives your hair the care it needs to prevent breakage and split ends and maintain its shine.

Protect and care for your hair after showering

Your hair remains vulnerable after washing. A leave-in conditioner or hair oil can help lock in moisture and prevent frizz. Apply these products mainly to the lengths and ends to keep your hair smooth and soft without weighing it down.

Drying technique

The way you dry your hair can make a big difference. Don’t rub your hair dry; gently pat it dry with a towel instead. This helps prevent tangles, breakage, and frizz. Want to blow-dry your hair? Always use a heat protectant to protect your hair and keep it healthy.
