This is a lotion that follows the Curly Girl Method.
This lotion does not contain protein, so if your hair has a lot of elasticity, this product is not right for you.
How can you tell if your hair has a lot or a little elasticity? The most common way to measure elasticity is to take a wet, freshly washed (without conditioner) strand of hair and stretch it.
Does the strand of hair break almost immediately without stretching? If so, your hair has low elasticity and contains too much protein. In that case, you actually need products that don't contain protein.
If you stretch a strand of your hair slightly, does it resist breaking too quickly and spring back to its original curl? If so, you have normal elasticity, and you should choose products that do and don't contain protein.
Does a strand of your hair stretch quite far? If so, it’s highly elastic and lacks protein. In that case, use products that contain protein.
