Hair Care
Hair care—we can’t live without it. Back in the day, it was mainly about cleaning our hair, but now our hair has become one of the most important parts of our appearance. After all, you can do all kinds of things with it! Dye it an (awesome) color, go for curls or straight hair, restore shine to dull hair, and smooth out frizzy hair. The possibilities are endless! With hair care, you can use products tailored to your hair and hair type to keep it healthy. These days, there are so many products and brands that have done extensive research so you can choose a good product, but sometimes it’s hard to see the forest for the trees. At JohnBeerens.com, we’re happy to help you navigate the products and figure out which ones are best for you.
Hair Care Products
To help you get started in the world of hair care, we’ve provided an explanation of the various products in our lineup below.
- Shampoo: Shampoo is the foundation of all hair care. The product contains a detergent to cleanse the hair and scalp of impurities such as dust, dead skin cells, and residue from styling products, for example. Good shampoos will do this without stripping the scalp of its natural oils.
Since we carry a wide variety of shampoos, we’ve organized the products into different categories to make it easier for you to choose one. We have a “shampoo by hair type” category that includes products such as shampoo for damaged hair, shampoo for curly hair, shampoo for frizzy hair, shampoo for oily hair, as well as shampoo for flaky scalps and shampoo for sensitive scalps. This is just a small selection, but if you recognize your hair type in one of these categories, it’ll be easier to find the perfect product.
Another category, “shampoo by product type,” includes products that specify what they do for your hair. For example, this category includes anti-frizz shampoo, anti-dandruff shampoo, keratin shampoo, hair-thickening shampoo, silver shampoo, and volume shampoo. Here, you can immediately see what the product does for your hair.
The last category is “shampoos by ingredient,” which was created because people are becoming increasingly aware of which ingredients they do and don’t want in their shampoo. Here you’ll find shampoos such as vegan shampoo, shampoo with argan oil, sulfate-free shampoo, and much more!
We also have a category featuring the best-selling shampoos and John's top 10 shampoos. - Dry shampoo: It has a similar effect to regular shampoo; it’s a spray that absorbs sebum, the substance that makes your hair greasy. This effectively removes the oil, making your hair feel fresher so you can wait another day before washing it. It can also add extra volume and texture at the roots.
- Conditioner: is almost always used after shampooing. As mentioned earlier, shampoo is a cleansing product, while conditioner strengthens the hair’s texture, replenishes moisture, forms a protective layer around the hair, and leaves it soft, shiny, and easy to comb. The product achieves this through various ingredients. Just like with shampoos, there are countless types of conditioners, each with a different effect; that’s why we’ve divided this product into different categories to make your choice easier.
We have a category called “Conditioner by Hair Type,” which includes subcategories such as conditioner for damaged hair, conditioner for dull hair, conditioner for dry hair, conditioner for bleached hair, and much more!
Another category is “conditioner by product type,” which immediately indicates the conditioner’s main feature. Our selection includes, among others, everyday conditioners, silver conditioners for brunettes, sun conditioners, and more.
Of course, a category featuring “conditioners by ingredient” is a must on this list. Here, products are categorized by ingredient, which means consumers can easily make an informed choice. For example, we have vegan conditioners, salt-free conditioners, and conditioners with keratin. - Leave-in conditioner: A leave-in conditioner works the same way as a regular conditioner, but is used differently. You use a regular conditioner while showering and then rinse it out. You apply this product to wet hair after showering and do not rinse it out. This allows it to continue nourishing and protecting your hair all day long. This product is especially suitable for curly hair. It’s also available in a spray formula.
- Hair mask: A hair mask is very similar to a conditioner. The difference between the two products lies in their water content. A mask is more concentrated than a conditioner and provides extra nourishment to the hair because it contains less moisture. As a result, the texture is slightly thicker. It often comes down to personal preference as to which product works best for you. We’ve also divided this product into categories; for example, we have a hair mask for damaged hair, a hair mask for dry hair, a mask for curly hair, and much more!
- Hair Repair: This product line offers a wide range of products for dry, damaged, and brittle hair. They are specially formulated to deeply nourish the hair, seal the cuticles, and prevent split ends.
- Hair serum: This product protects and conditions your hair. It forms a protective layer around your hair, shielding it from external factors. It makes your hair more manageable and prevents frizz.
- Hair oil: Oil isn’t meant to make your hair greasy, but to keep it healthy. Various oils promote healthy hair because they’re packed with vitamins. You can use it as a finishing touch for your hair to give it a beautiful shine. This product is ideal for people with dry and damaged hair. Every oil is different, so be sure to choose the one that’s best for your hair!
- Treatment: an intensive treatment that is even more concentrated than a conditioner or a hair mask. It often combines ingredients that repair the hair, add shine, protect against heat, leave hair soft and smooth, shield against UV rays, detangle, and prevent split ends. Check each product to see its unique benefits.
- Detangling spray: A detangling spray can be used to make tangles easier to comb out. The spray contains ingredients that act like a type of oil. Thanks to that layer, it’s easier to run your comb through stubborn tangles. The product can often be used on both wet and dry hair.
- Heat Protection: Do you use styling tools like a hair dryer, flat iron, or curling iron? Then you probably know that the heat from these tools can damage your hair. That’s why it’s important to use a heat protectant to shield your hair. It creates a kind of barrier between the heat of the tool and your hair.
- Hair Loss: Hair loss is a problem that affects many women and men. However, the causes and characteristics often vary somewhat. We offer a variety of products that can reduce or even stop hair loss. Since the cause isn’t always clear, we’ve created different categories to help you choose the right product.
"Hair Loss by Product Type" includes hair loss shampoo, hair loss conditioner, hair loss vitamins, and other categories.
"Hair Loss by Cause" examines the specific reasons for hair loss. This section includes categories such as post-pregnancy hair loss, stress-related hair loss, and hair loss due to menopause.
Under “Hair Loss by Symptom,” you can see which symptoms apply to you, and to help you conceal hair loss, we have a category called “Hide Hair Loss.” We also have various products in our lineup that help combat hair loss, as well as a “Top 10 Best-Selling Products for Hair Loss.” - Scalp: Healthy hair starts with a healthy scalp. Unfortunately, not all of us have a problem-free scalp all the time. These issues can arise from, for example, using the wrong hair products or a skin condition. We offer a variety of products that can help soothe the scalp. We have products for scalp eczema, an itchy scalp, a flaky scalp, or an oily scalp.
- Hair Transformation: With these products, you can straighten your hair without a flat iron and create permanent curls without a curling iron. This is achieved using a chemical solution that alters the hair’s structure.
