Hair care
Hair care
Hair care is something we can't do without. In the past, it was mainly about cleansing your hair, but nowadays our hair has become one of the most important parts of our appearance. You can do all kinds of things with it! Dye it a (crazy) color, choose curls or straight hair, make dull hair shiny again and smooth frizzy hair. The possibilities are endless! With hair care, you can keep your hair healthy by using products suited to your hair and hair type. There are now so many products and brands that have done extensive research to help you choose a good product, but sometimes it can be hard to see the wood for the trees. At JohnBeerens.com, we're happy to help you find your way around the products and decide which ones suit you best.
Hair care products
To help you find your way around the world of hair care, we've explained the different products in our range below.
- Shampoo: shampoo is the foundation of all hair care. The product contains a detergent to cleanse the hair and scalp of impurities such as dust, dead skin cells, and dirt from styling products, for example. Good shampoos do this without stripping the scalp of its natural oils.
Since we have so many different shampoos, we've placed the products into different categories to make it easier for you to choose one. We have a ‘shampoo by hair type’ category, with products such as shampoo for damaged hair, shampoo for curly hair, shampoo for frizzy hair, shampoo for oily hair, and shampoo for a flaky or sensitive scalp. This is just a small selection, but if your hair fits into one of these categories, it will be easier to find the perfect product.
Another category, ‘shampoo by product type’, contains products that tell you what they do for your hair. This category includes anti-frizz shampoo, anti-dandruff shampoo, keratin shampoo, thickening shampoo, silver shampoo, and volumizing shampoo, for example. You can immediately see what the product does for your hair.
The last category is ‘shampoo by ingredient’, created because people are becoming increasingly aware of which ingredients they do and don't want in their shampoo. Here you'll find shampoos such as vegan shampoo, shampoo with argan oil, sulfate-free shampoo, and much more!
We also have a category for the best-selling shampoos and John's top 10 shampoos. - Dry shampoo: has a similar effect to shampoo. It's a spray that absorbs sebum, the substance that makes your hair greasy. This removes the grease and leaves your hair feeling fresher, so you can put off washing it for another day. It can also add extra volume and texture at the roots.
- Conditioner: almost always used after shampoo. As mentioned, shampoo is a cleansing product, while conditioner helps strengthen the hair's texture, replenish moisture, coat the hair with a protective layer, and leave it soft, shiny, and easy to comb. It does this using a variety of ingredients. Just like shampoos, there are countless types of conditioners, each with a different effect. That's why we've also divided this product into different categories to make choosing easier for you.
We have a ‘conditioner by hair type’ category, with options such as conditioner for damaged hair, conditioner for dull hair, conditioner for dry hair, conditioner for bleached hair, and much more!
Another category is ‘conditioner by product type’, which immediately tells you the main benefit of the conditioner. Our range includes daily conditioners, silver conditioner for brunettes, sun conditioner, and more.
A ‘conditioner by ingredient’ category couldn't be left off this list either. Here, products are categorized by ingredient, making it easy for consumers to make an informed choice. For example, we have vegan conditioner, salt-free conditioner, and conditioner with keratin. - Leave-in conditioner: a leave-in conditioner works like a regular conditioner, but is used differently. You use regular conditioner in the shower and rinse it out afterward. This product is applied to wet hair after showering and isn't rinsed out. This means it nourishes and protects your hair all day long. This product is especially suitable for curly hair. It also comes in a spray version.
- Hair mask: a hair mask is very similar to a conditioner. The difference between the two products lies in their water content. A mask is more concentrated than a conditioner and gives the hair extra nourishment because it contains less water. It also has a thicker texture. Which product you prefer often comes down to personal preference. We've also divided this product into categories, including hair masks for damaged hair, dry hair, and curly hair, and many more!
- Hair repair: this product covers a wider range of products for dry, damaged, and brittle hair. They are specially developed to deeply condition the hair, seal the cuticles, and help prevent split ends.
- Hair serum: this product protects and conditions the hair. It coats your hair with a layer that protects it from external factors. It makes hair manageable and prevents frizz.
- Hair oil: oil isn't meant to make your hair greasy, but to keep it healthy. Different oils promote healthy hair because they're packed with vitamins. Use it as a finishing touch for your hair to give it a beautiful shine. This product is very suitable for people with dry and damaged hair. Every oil is different, so be sure to check which one is best for your hair!
- Treatment: an intensive treatment that's even more concentrated than a conditioner or hair mask. It often combines ingredients that repair the hair, add shine, protect against heat, soften and smooth the hair, protect against UV rays, detangle, and help prevent split ends. Check each product to see its unique benefits.
- Detangling spray: detangling spray can be used to make knots easier to comb through. The spray contains ingredients that work like oil. This layer makes it easier to comb through stubborn knots. The product can often be used on both wet and dry hair.
- Heat protection: do you use styling tools such as a hair dryer, straightener, or curling iron? Then you probably know that the heat from these tools damages your hair. That's why it's important to use a heat protectant to protect your hair. It creates a kind of barrier between the heat from the tool and your hair.
- Hair loss: hair loss is a problem that affects many women and men. Its causes and characteristics often differ. We have various products that can reduce or even stop hair loss. Since the reason isn't always clear, we've created different categories to help you choose the right product.
‘hair loss by product type’ includes hair loss shampoo, hair loss conditioner, hair loss vitamins, and other categories.
‘hair loss by cause’ looks at the specific reason for the hair loss. Categories include hair loss after pregnancy, hair loss due to stress, and hair loss due to menopause.
Under ‘hair loss by symptom’, you can see which symptoms apply to you. To conceal hair loss, we also have a ‘conceal hair loss’ category. Our range also includes various tools to help combat hair loss and a ‘top 10 best-selling products for hair loss’. - Scalp: healthy hair starts with a healthy scalp. Unfortunately, not all of us have a problem-free scalp all the time. Problems can be caused by unsuitable hair products or a skin condition, for example. We have various products that can help soothe the scalp, including products for scalp eczema, an itchy scalp, a flaky scalp, or an oily scalp.
- Hair restructuring: with these products, you can straighten your hair without a straightener and get a permanent curl without a curling iron. This is done using a chemical solution that can change the structure of the hair.
