The sun will be peeking out again soon. And spring is literally just around the corner. Slowly but surely, bare legs are making a comeback. That means:Time to grab a tan! Buthow do you get the most out of your tanning spray? And what easy tricks can you use to achieve a beautiful result (without streaks, spots, or fading)? We’re happy to lend a hand.
First things come first
Shave before you start using the self-tanner. The same goes for a bikini wax. Or that much-needed pedicure we often need around the start of spring. Do all of this before you self-tan. All of these treatments can affect the final result of your self-tanning.
Make sure to dry off thoroughly!
Don't think, "Ah, nice shower—just a quick spritzand I'm done!"Make sureto dryoff thoroughly before applying the self-tanner. If you skip this step, the tan will fade faster.
Scrub till you drop
Exfoliate your skin at least 24 hours in advance. Focus especially on the dry areas—such as your elbows, knees, hands, and heels. A spray tan fades more quickly on dry, rough skin, resulting in unsightly patches. If you’re not sure which scrub to choose, we recommend the Pazzione Lovely Saint Tropez Body Scrub. It removes dead skin cells and has a wonderful scent!
Tan from the bottom up
Avoid uneven streaks by bending over after you’ve just applied the self-tanning spray. Start at your feet, using small circular motions, and work your way up toward the top of your body. Apply about a teaspoon to your skin each time.
Moisturize the skin
Once you’ve patted every last drop of water dry, it’s time to moisturize your skin. If your skin isn’t properly moisturized, you risk getting unsightly dark spots after applying the self-tanning spray. And that’s not the natural look you’re hoping to achieve. Be sure to moisturize your face as well. One more important thing: your lotion or face cream shouldn’t be oil-based. Our customers love the wonderfully moisturizing SachaJuan Body Lotion Shiny Citrus. This body lotion smells like jasmine and citrus. It’s a refreshing lotion that gets you completely ready for your tanning session.
Which color tanning spray?
One rule is set in stone: don’t just go for a color you like. Choose a tanning spray shade that matches your skin tone. If you have fair skin, go for a light or medium spray tan. If you have a darker complexion, opt for a dark self-tanner. One of our favorite self-tanners is the Marc Inbane Natural Tanning Spray. Plus, the tanning spray is packed with plant-based and nourishing ingredients, such as aloe vera, ginkgo, and vitamin E.
We hope these golden tips will help you on your way to the perfect tan. Are you curious about our selection of self-tanners? Then check out JohnBeerens.com. We’re really curious to hear how you use self-tanners. Let us know in the comments and you could win the Marc Inbane Natural Tanning Spray!
