My experience with Kérastase Blond Absolu products

For bleached hair to shine beautifully, it needs good care. Not every shampoo is suitable, so it’s best to use products specially designed for bleached hair. This helps your bleached hair retain its color for longer. The Kérastase Blond Absolu range provides the perfect care for bleached hair, and I’ll explain why.

My natural hair color is dark blonde, but I’ve had highlights for a while that make my hair much lighter. My hair dries out quickly, partly because of the highlights, so I think products that provide plenty of hydration and nourishment are very important. That’s why I was very excited to try these products.

My experience

First, I used the Blond Absolu Bain Lumiere Shampoo. This is a nourishing cleanser, ideal for light-colored hair, among other types. I always wash my hair twice: first to remove any product residue, and then to neutralize my hair. As I massaged it into my hair, I noticed that the shampoo lathers well and has a really lovely scent. Since it lathers so well, I really felt that my hair was being thoroughly cleansed.

This shampoo is for daily use, and there’s also the Blond Absolu Bain Ultra-Violet Shampoo as a supplement—a purple shampoo that neutralizes yellow tones. I don’t use it every time I wash my hair, only when I feel the yellow undertones need to be neutralized (usually once a week). The Ultra-Violet shampoo lathers well and, like the other products, smells absolutely lovely. It’s a really great shampoo for bleached hair. After applying the shampoo, I left it in for three minutes and then rinsed it out thoroughly.

After washing and rinsing my hair twice, I applied the Blond Absolu Masque Ultra-Violet. The hair mask is purple, and you only need a small amount. That’s great, of course, because it lasts a long time. My hair immediately felt more supple and softer as I applied the mask. To give my hair extra nourishment, I left the mask on for ten minutes and worked it especially well into the ends, which can always use a little extra care. After rinsing out the mask, my hair felt incredibly smooth and nourished. For me, it’s the best hair mask for bleached hair.

Since my hair has become a little drier because of the highlights, I also use the Blond Absolu Cicaflash Fondant after the hair mask. I don’t use it every time I wash my hair, but usually once a week to give my hair extra nourishment, or when I have some nice “me time.” The formula provides the deep nourishment of a hair mask with the lightweight finish of a conditioner. The tube contains a shimmery gel with a lavender hue. I applied this one too, massaging it especially well into the ends. After about three minutes, I rinsed my hair thoroughly. It’s really important to rinse hair masks and conditioners out thoroughly. Otherwise, they can weigh your hair down and make it lose volume.

After washing and caring for my hair, it was time to style it. I straighten my hair regularly, so I was very happy that this range also includes a heat protectant. Of course, Kérastase wouldn’t be Kérastase if this product were just a heat protectant. The Blond Absolu Cicaplasme Treatment is an intensive, leave-in hair mask that brightens the hair. The cream is shimmery and lavender-colored, and I’ve become completely addicted to this product. I apply it to towel-dried hair, then blow-dry and straighten it with the steampod. And honestly, I’m not exaggerating—what a scent! Because it smells so incredibly good and makes my hair shine beautifully, I also apply it to the ends every evening before bed for extra hydration. After using these products, my hair has exactly the blonde color I want and looks beautifully cared for and shiny. I’m very happy with the results and would definitely recommend them to anyone with bleached or highlighted hair.
